BTI Faculty Colloquia
Faculty colloquia are sponsored by several faculty interest groups across the consortium in order to discuss and showcase current developments in the field by our schools' faculty members. Some groups meet as often as every month, others twice a year. Unless otherwise noted, colloquia are for faculty only: students may participate by invitation only.
Our patristics colloquium meets eight times during the academic year. Dr. Annewies van den Hoek (HDS) is the coordinator. The schedule and the titles of the papers (present and past) are posted here.
Boston Theological Society
Our systematic theology colloquium also meets frequently throughout the year, sharing dinner before discussing a member's paper. Dr. Mark Heim (ANTS) is the coordinator. The schedule (and faculty papers, present and past) are posted here.
The Ethics group meets on average every fall and spring for a meal and discussions around a presentation or theme. The current chair is Prof. Nimi Wariboko of Andover Newton Theological School.
Society for Comparative Theology
Our comparative theology colloquium meets several times a year for roundtable discussions, often in a public forum open to students. More information about upcoming events can be found here. Current chairs are John Berthrong (BUSTh), Frank Clooney, SJ (HDS) and Catherine Cornille (BC DT).
The BTI New Testament colloquium meets several times a year and is currently under re-development.
The following colloquia meet once or twice a year: Old Testament, Church History, and Psychology & Religion. Please contact the BTI office for more information.
